About Money After Thirty

The decisions that arrive all at once

Last updated August 13, 2026

Money After Thirty publishes earning, pensions, family costs for readers who want the working version rather than the promotional one.

Our house style is frank about trade-offs, written for people already committed. We would rather publish one piece that holds up than five that fill a schedule.

What we cover

The site is organised into 6 sections:

  • Earning — Salary progression, changing jobs and what a raise is actually worth.
  • Pensions — Contributions, employer matching and the decades-long consequences of ignoring it.
  • Family Costs — Childcare, schooling and the arithmetic of one income going part-time.
  • Big Decisions — Moving, a career change, a career break — priced properly before committing.
  • Safety Nets — Emergency funds, income protection and what happens if the income stops.
  • Looking Ahead — Ageing parents, wills, and the planning nobody wants to start.

Who writes it

Every article carries a named writer with a profile page, and nothing is published anonymously. You can see the full list on our writers page.

How it is funded

Advertising pays for this site. It does not buy coverage, placement or a favourable word, and our editorial policy sets out exactly how that separation works.
